The Nap Monster

For the past couple of months, Margot has been doing great with taking naps.  She has been putting herself to sleep, and then sleeping for at least an hour and a half and sometimes even three hours!  People, that is unheard of in this household!!  Then two days ago, this came to an ubrupt halt.  Why, you ask?  Oh, because Margot finally realized she could get out of her bed when I wasn't in the room with her.  Up until this point she has stayed on the bed, even though she knew how to get down.  So, what did this new achievement mean for her nap taking?  See for yourself.

After leaving her in her room for over an hour, and knowing the havoc that was being wreaked, I heard knocking on the door, followed by "Mommy, Mommy, Mooooommy".  I went in there to find one whole shelf of books all over the floor, a diaper and then some toys.  Needless to say, she didn't take a nap.

We headed over to our friends house for a little while, and on the way home the little monster fell asleep.  Being that it was 4:30, I was NOT going to let her sleep long because I wanted her to go to bed at her normal time.  So after about 20 minutes, I started trying to wake her up.  I had been holding her, so I laid her down on the couch, because this has woken her up in the past, but nope, not this time.  So I started talking to her, lifting her arms and legs but still nothing.  Ok, I'll sit her up, that will wake her up for sure.  Um....

NOPE!  Finally I just kept talking to her and poking her and she woke up.  Now to just figure out how to keep her in her bed at naptime so this doesn't happen every day.
